Editorial Review for Martha's Vineyard Airport – by Lesley Balla
Overview
The airport is right in the middle of the island, easily accessible from all towns. Although there are some commercial flights, many private jets are now making this a very busy place. The small terminal is accommodating enough, but nothing lavish. Tie-down and parking fees are now required for anyone flying their own plane. Flights from Boston are a little more than 30 minutes; from New York or Newark, about an hour and 20 minutes.
Facts
Cape Air (800) 352-0714 offers year-round service, while US Airways Express (800) 428-4322 provides seasonal flights.
There are three national car rental agencies at the airport: Budget, Thrifty and Hertz. There are also local services in Vineyard Haven and Edgartown.
